Scope and Contents

The Mercyhurst College Senate Records are the written documentation of the activities of the College Senate and its committees from 1967 to 1991. It contains minutes and other documentation of individual meetings, reports on various subjects from various committees, and proposals throughout the years. This collection follows the Senate through the years, recording its membership, its changes in structure and its business. It also follows the business of the College as it comes in contact with the Senate. Specific academic programs, as well as proposed ones, are noted along with grading policies.

Biographical / Historical

The Mercyhurst College Senate is a cooperation of faculty, students, and administration working to achieve the aims and objectives of a Christian Liberal Arts College. Its general purpose is to provide for the President and Board of Trustees the leadership, guidance, assistance and advice needed for the college to fulfill its stated purposes and objectives.
