Academic Schedules
This collection contains the academic schedules from Mercyhurst College/University. Each folder contains fall, winter, spring, and summer term schedules for that academic year. Semesters started in fall 2013.
Administrative Handbooks
This collection contains handbooks for administrators of Mercyhurst College/University. It includes information such as: general policies, employment policies and procedures, pay policies, and employee benefits and services.
Adult College Program
This collection contains newsletters from the adult college providing information of interest to the adult students and the college community. Later, the newsletter was named Paradigm, and the adult college became the adult and graduate center. The collection also contains marketing material in video, tape, and paper formats.
Alumni Directories
This collection contains the directories for Alumni. These directories include information such as alumni bibliography, class year, geography, career networking, and e-mail addresses.
Anthropology/Archaeology Department
This collection contains information pertaining to the Anthropology/Archaeology department, as well as the Mercyhurst Archaeological Institute (MAI), from the proposal in 1990 to current times.
Application for University Status
This collection contains the information submitted for University Status of Mercyhurst College. It includes the documentation of the site visit on October 3-5, 2011 and any other relevant items to the process of change within the College.
Campus Directions Newsletter
This collection contains the publication Campus Directions containing news from the North East, West, and Corry campuses of Mercyhurst College. This publication began in 2006 and continued through 2009. For a time, this title was included in the Monday Morning.
Campus Telephone Directories
This collection contains the telephone directories of faculty, administration, and staff at Mercyhurst University.
Career Development Center (Career Services)
This collection contains information regarding the Career Development Center which changed from Career Services between March and September 2010. This information includes career handbooks, job search workbooks, cooperative education, MAASCUS, schedules for job/career fairs, publications, handouts, and newspaper clippings.
Career Services Office Annual Placement Reports
This collection contains information from the Career Services Office about the annual placements of students into internships/externships, graduate schools, and job placements after graduation.

This collection contains commencement programs from Mercyhurst main campus. Also as part of this collection are additional commencement materials, such as invitations, event schedules, mass programs, etc.
Course Catalogs
This collection contins the course catalogs from Mercyhurst College until 2011-2012, which then changes to Mercyhurst University catalogs with the 2012-13 publication. These catalogs contain information on academic programs, student life, academic affairs, admissions, as well as faculty, board of trustees and administration.
Dance Department
This collection contains the pamphlets, schedules, photographs, and publications of the Mercyhurst College Dance Department.
Dean's Office Employee Records
This collection contains the records of former faculty and administrators from the 1960s to 1975.
Dr. Thomas J. Gamble Presidential Inauguration
This collection contains material of the planning of events, commencement invitiations, inauguration budgeting, and correspondence pertaining to the inauguration of Mercyhurst College's 11th president, Dr. Thomas J. Gamble, on September 16, 2006.

Durkin Family Records
Early Merciad Records
The Merciad Collection consists of miscellaneous items concerning Mercyhurst College in the mid 1930’s. Four Merciads, the school newspaper are in this collection. Two articles show the graduating seniors, one in newsprint form and one in portrait form. The last item is a mid 1930 College Handbook that shows some of the events that occurred around the college campus.
Faculty Handbooks
This collection contains information for faculty of Mercyhurst College/University. It includes information such as: faculty membership and responsibilities, faculty personnel policies, faculty policies committee by-laws, documents, and appendices.
Faculty Policy Committee Records
Collection 188, Faculty Policies Committee, contains various materials dealing with the operations and concerns of such a committee, i.e: faculty benefits; salaries; tenure; contracts. Also included are minutes from faculty meetings, correspondence between faculty and administration and various educational publications. The collection encompasses the period between 1966 and 1975, with some undated material.
Institute for Arts and Culture Collection
Larie Pintea's Oral Histories
These tapes are interviews made by Larie Pintea, former Erie Times columnist, of Mercyhurst administration, faculty, and alumni members. The persons being interviewed give the history of their past and memories of Mercyhurst. This collection also contains interviews pertaining to the history of Erie Radio and TV broadcasting, the Erie Public School System, and Erie politics.

Lyman and Marylin Cohen Record Memorabilia
The materials in this collection were found in with the record collection donated to Mercyhurst Hammermill Library by Lyman and Marylin Cohen. It contains photographs, programs, letters, and autographs.
Mass of the Holy Spirit
This collection contains programs, invitations, and names of speakers present during the Mass of the Holy Spirit. The mass was celebrated during the month of September and held in the Christ the King Chapel. Following the mass, the entire university is invited to a luncheon on the school grounds.
May Day
The first May Crowning was held at Mercyhurst in 1931. The May Crowning was one of the graduation celebrations held along with a visit from the Bishop, special dinner, and Charter Day. The annual event was held in the grotto and later moved to the front of the campus. Many parents and residents of Erie would come to the celebration. The last May Crowning was held in 1968 at the request of the students who thought it was an outdated activity.
